LAGOS IN PARIS is a collective of producers and performers from West Africa who define their sound as the new electronic music “Afraw.” Without a fixed studio, they record in various locations, following the people and artists they meet along the way, creating music that is as raw and wild as it is sophisticated. Their DIY approach reflects their nomadic spirit, where each recording, performance, and collaboration adds to their ever-evolving journey.
Their adventure began five years ago when the three founding members first met. Quickly, after several musical travels together in countries such as Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Cape Verde, the idea of making music as a collective became a natural step. Each member brings their own expertise, from traditional musical culture and songwriting to digital production and live performance skills. This diversity and fusion of talents create a dynamic and evolving collective, often joined by guest artists who broaden their skills and sonic spectrum.
